Click on the MetaMask extension icon in your browser toolbar to open MetaMask.

Click on the three vertical dots (or the circle icon with your account image) in the upper right corner of the MetaMask extension.

Select "Settings" from the dropdown menu.

In the Settings menu, click on "Security & Privacy."

Under the "Secret Recovery Phrase" section, click on "Reveal Secret Recovery Phrase."

Enter your MetaMask password to confirm your identity.

A 12-word (or 24-word) Secret Recovery Phrase will be displayed. Write down these words in the exact order shown. Do not store this phrase digitally (e.g., in a text file or taking a screenshot) to avoid hacking risks.

Use a pen and paper to write the phrase, and store it in a secure and private location, such as a safe.

After writing down your Secret Recovery Phrase, double-check to ensure that the words are written correctly and in the correct order.

To ensure your backup is correct, you can test it by logging out of MetaMask and then restoring your wallet using the Secret Recovery Phrase.

To do this, log out of MetaMask by clicking on your account icon and selecting "Lock" or "Log Out."

On the login screen, select "Import using Secret Recovery Phrase" and enter the 12-word (or 24-word) phrase you wrote down. Set a new password and ensure that your account is restored successfully.

Keep the written Secret Recovery Phrase in a secure place, such as a fireproof safe or a secure deposit box.

Consider making multiple copies and storing them in different secure locations to mitigate the risk of loss due to fire, theft, or other disasters.

Do Not Share Your Secret Recovery Phrase: Never share your Secret Recovery Phrase with anyone. If someone gains access to it, they can control your assets.

Avoid Digital Storage: Storing the Secret Recovery Phrase digitally increases the risk of it being stolen by malware or hackers.

Regularly Check Your Backup: Periodically check your backup to ensure it is still legible and complete.
